What do you do if you're a well-established rock band that has just turned four years old? Throw a birthday party, of course.
Tomorrow night, Crazy Daze, State College's best remembrance of the dead -- the Grateful Dead that is -- will host their annual birthday show at the Veterans of Foreign Wars post, 139 N. Barnard St.
Jay Rhyne of Artifax, 323 E. Calder Way, said this is the third year the band has had a party.
"We've handled tickets for the last two parties and they've been pretty successful," he said.
Band manager Eric Gross said acoustic music will begin at about 7, and afterward, dinner will be served potluck style. The band will play later.
In the past the parties have been a relaxed good time for all involved, he said. This year will feature some extra attractions.
"All the band members are cooking something . . . and we've hired a sound man to give us a quadriphonic set-up. There will be stuff coming out of different speakers all over the room," Gross said.
Band member Scott Freeman said there will be guest musicians, but neither he nor Gross would reveal who they will be.
Tickets are $8 and will not be sold at the door. They can be purchased prior to the show at Artifax, Arboria Books & Records, 151 S. Allen St., and from the band tonight at their show at the Brewery, 233 E. Beaver Ave.
Alcoholic beverages will be served, so the show is open only to those who are 21 or older.
