When it comes to salaries, Penn State faculty members receive average pay when compared to other Big Ten teachers.
In a report to be presented at today's University Faculty Senate meeting, Penn State's faculty salaries are compared to several other groups of institutions. The report states, "Salaries and salary increases at Penn State have kept pace with the averages at similar institutions and have remained close to the middle position."
In the comparison, Penn State fell in the middle of the Big Ten average salaries by placing fourth at the professor level with $65,000, fifth at the associate professor level with $45,700, seventh at the assistant professor level with $37,700 and fifth at the instructor level with $24,500.
