Area cows are sitting on your old phone books. Gov. Robert P. Casey recently announced his support of a bill that would force total disclosure of Penn State's budget records. University President Joab Thomas enacted a University-wide hiring freeze March 6 as part of a plan to save money for possible use in the 1992-93 operating budget. Whether or not local activists support abortion, some question the profit motives of abortion clinics and disagree with groups that raise money to help pay for the procedures. The humiliation came when he lost the 158-pound spot to redshirt freshman Josh Robbins just before Penn State's final home dual meet. Only an injury prevented Robbins from wrestling. PITTSBURGH -- Until mid-January of this year, twin brothers John and Russ Hughes were leading a quiet life. Since neither wanted to leave the other behind both of them decided to redshirt. PITTSBURGH -- After dominating the Eastern Wrestling League for the last 16 years, Penn State came up with the ultimate goodbye 10 days ago. In addition to winning their 11th straight title (14th overall), the Lions set a tournament scoring record with 165 points and crowned a record seven singles champions. For weeks, Coach Rene Portland heard talk that the women's basketball team could very possibly be seeded a good distance away from the NCAA East. It was a battle of first versus worst.
