Letter to the Editor
Hefner is repulsive

Mr. Hugh Hefner, I would like to express my appreciation for your recent letter to the editor. I found it well-written, thought provoking, and about as hypocritical as anything that I have ever read.

I condemn the exploitation of anyone, yet I do not stand in judgement of those who choose for or against the purchase or sale of your magazine. I feel each person must make the best decision for their situation.

I do find it repugnant that you take the moral high ground under the guise that your magazine provides insights and information. If this were the basis for your publication then there would be no need to show explicit pictures of Bambi, a description of her physical characteristics, and a catalog of her dreams and turn-ons. Obviously this is not the case. Could it be that reality and the almighty dollar carry more weight than your rhetoric? Why don't you publish your magazine with only these "insights and informative articles?" Could it be that extinction scares you that badly?

I'm proud to be a member of the University and to be associated with a group of people whose intellect sees through your snake-oil salesman-type statements. I suggest you refrain from further pollution of our newspaper and spend your time and efforts publishing more of your "literary masterpieces."
