Letter to the Editor
Not a majority

I am writing in response to a disturbing letter that I caught sight of a few days ago. The letter was from a group identifying themselves solely as the "White Silent Majority." In this letter they spew garbage such as, "blacks, on the whole, have proven themselves totally incapable caretakers of any and every resource that could possibly uplift them." This group then tries to say that they are an,"unofficial, invisible, amorphous group of sober non-bigoted realists."

Non-bigoted?!? Who are these people trying to kid? If this letters speaks for the majority of white people in this society, then this society needs help. If this letter speaks for the majority, then this majority masks itself so well that neither I, nor the rest of my friends, family and acquaintances, have ever heard of the "White Silent Majority." Nor do we believe any of the excrement that these people are shoveling.

Racism and prejudice exist in society. Anyone who says differently is either blind or stupid. However, more and more people are beginning to see the light and realize that we are all supposedly created in God's image. Because of that, we are all created equal. Ever read the Constitution?

I realize that it is utopianistic to think that there will come a time when everyone in the world believes everyone else is completely and unequivocally equal. But when will the time come when groups such as the "White Silent Majority" realize their ignorance and irrationalities?

It's about time.
