Police Log

  • Accident sends two to hospital: Two people were injured in an accident on South Atherton Street Tuesday, State College Bureau of Police Services said.

    Raymond F. Holderman of Bellefonte, who was traveling on South Atherton Street, hit a vehicle driven by Bernard Doran of Centre Hall. Holderman was making a left turn from South Atherton Street when he proceeded into the eastbound lane and collided with Doran.

    Doran and Naomi Chapman, a passenger in Holderman's car, were taken to Centre Community Hospital. Doran was treated and released. Chapman was admitted and is in satisfactory condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.

  • Criminal Mischief: Amy Schulman of 514 Hiester Hall reported that someone shattered the rear window of her car and removed the molding and hood emblem while it was in Parking Lot 42 between 6 Saturday evening and 11:30 Monday morning, University Police Services said.

    No damage estimate was available.

  • Criminal Mischief: A male University student was cited for criminal mischief and public drunkenness early yesterday morning after a University police officer discovered the man bleeding from the wrist at the intersection of Pollock and Shortlidge roads, University police said.

    The man had punched a glass alarm light in Shunk Hall. He was taken to Centre Community Hospital for treatment, police said.

  • Criminal Mischief: Linda Kosh of Centre Hall reported that someone damaged the aluminum siding on her house, pried chicken wire from her garage window, broke the window and hit the car inside the garage with a bottle, State College police said.

    No damage estimate was available.

  • Health and Safety: University police received a report of a pellet gun being fired from Runkle Hall between 4 and 4:10 Monday afternoon. Officers checked the area but were unable to determine who fired the shots.

  • Theft: University employee Rick Dills reported that someone took a cigarette urn from the northwest entrance of Beam Building between 1:30 Saturday morning and 5 Monday afternoon, University police said.

    The urn is worth $300.

  • Theft: Dominica Lanzetta and Judy McGonagle of 320 E. Beaver Ave. reported that someone took their laundry from a washer on the second floor laundry room of the above address, State College police said.

    The clothes, which included shirts, pants, shorts and tights, are worth about $223.
