Animal rights activists calling for a veal boycott may be wasting their efforts.

An unidentified man allegedly pulled a gun on fraternity members outside of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity when he was denied access to a party at about 3 yesterday morning, State College Bureau of Police Services said.
 
With the political landscape in Pennsylvania still rumbling from Sen. Harris Wofford's victory over former U.S. Attorney General Dick Thornburgh, the state's Republican senator, Arlen Specter, faces obstacles in running for a third term.

The Lions' lack of depth and experience in the upper weights finally caught up to them yesterday. The wrestling team squandered an eight-point lead as fourth-ranked Oklahoma State won, 17-16, at Rec Hall.
 
Shawn Nelson has proved this year that he is one of the best collegiate wrestlers at the 118-pound weight class. Unfortunately, the defending national champion at that weight is also on Penn State's team.
 
There was the good -- and then there was the bad.
