Pepsi's coming
Thanks for the editorial concerning the Pepsi Co. takeover of part of Penn State. It is about time that someone gave this "business decision" some attention. Is Penn State for sale to the highest bidder? If so, how much money does it take to replace hard-working loyal workers who have given years of service to the University? All through the 1980s, we heard over and over again, "anything for profit" and it appears that PSU is still in the '80s. The books of Penn State remain closed so we will probably never know the amount of money it took to convince Penn State to be disloyal to their vending workers. This back-room deal with Pepsi may sound great to the money men at the top, but it will never happen. There isn't a labor arbitrator in the country that will rule in Penn State's favor when the Teamster grievance is heard. The arbitrator will pick the right one, baby!
