As editorial editors of our high school newspaper, The Bear Press, we stand in support of Kevin Naff's decision to print the Chino Wilson column which included the author's racial sentiments. The title of this section is "Opinion." This means that the column or letter writers are allowed to voice their opinions on any subject matter. The opinion page is a forum which permits freedom of expression and allows, in this case, students to voice their views on a subject that would not normally be addressed.

It was Kevin's right and duty as opinion editor to print thought provoking, discussion generating material that covers a wide range of ideals and beliefs. The views printed in this section are not necessarily, or in any manner related to, the views of the editors or other students from Penn State.

If you have an opinion that you wish to be heard, write a letter to the newspaper instead of delivering threats to the editors. Nice job, Kevin!
