Police Log

  • Criminal Mischief: Valerie Jones of 1240 Shamrock Ave. reported that all four tires on her van were slashed yesterday morning while the van was parked in the ground floor of the McAllister Street Parking Garage, State College Bureau of Police Services said.

    The amount of damage is unknown.

  • Criminal Mischief: University employee Chuck Poretto reported that someone smashed the glass top of a photocopying machine outside of 17 Beam between 5 Monday evening and 8 yesterday morning, University Police Services said.

    No damage estimate was available.

  • Retail Theft: A 53-year-old Lewistown woman was cited yesterday for allegedly trying to take a cassette player, a jacket and two sweatshirts from the Sears, Roebuck and Co. store in the Nittany Mall, State College police said.

    The items are worth $142.

  • Theft: George Powell of 126 E. Nittany Ave. reported that two dimmer packs for a light show and a large orange extension cord were taken from the bed of his pickup truck, State College police said.

    The items are worth $700.
