Help is available

Last Tuesday's Collegian included an anoymous letter from a post-abortive mother who expressed her anger towards the pro-life movement. Apparently she is unaware of the many useful services offered to mothers and babies by the pro-life groups.

Most pro-life activity is done behind the scenes by individuals in the community who help countless mothers and their babies get back on their feet again. Help may come in the form of baby clothes, food, a place to live, transportation and/or financial aid for mother and baby. Mothers are also helped through counseling and adoption services, if desired. Also, volunteers may babysit for mothers who have to work or attend classes. Post-Abortion Depression counseling is also available. In our community these valuable resources are provided through Birthright and Crisis Pregnancy Center. No mother should ever feel so helpless, desperate and alone that abortion appears a solution for her and her baby. Help is available.

Sadly, it seems that the only "choice" offered by the pro-choice movement is the "choice" of abortion. Perhaps tragic stories such as these will not occur again if future mothers can be made aware of the valuable resources that are a phone call away.

Pro-abortion advocates often ignore and dismiss pro-life support services for mothers and babies. The many success stories of happy mothers and babies stand in stark contrast to the inevitable tragic consequences of each and every abortion. If you are or know of a mother with an unexpected baby on the way please talk to the women at Birthright and the Crisis Preganancy Center in order to find out about the life-giving resources available to you and your baby.
