  • Bellefonte man drives into student: A car driven by Robert J. Dixon of Bellefonte hit pedestrian Bronwyn Anne Alt of 35 Simmons when Dixon backed up his car into a parking space on the 400 block of East College Avenue Tuesday, State College Bureau of Police Services said.

    Alt said she stepped off the curb to cross the street but looked only to her left.

    She was treated and released from Centre Community Hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said.

  • Vehicle runs red light; hits another: A car driven by Esther L. Woodring of Port Matilda collided with a car driven by Billie J. Corl of Boalsburg after Woodring drove through a red light Tuesday, State College police said.

    Woodring was approaching the intersection of East College Avenue and Pike Street when she proceeded through the light. She said she didn't see Corl. Corl went ahead when the light turned green, police said.

    Woodring was treated and released from Centre Community Hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said.

  • Criminal Mischief: Rebecca Epstein of 603 Shulze reported that a window in the north hallway of the sixth floor of Shulze Hall was shattered at 12:02 yesterday morning, University Police Services said.

    The amount of damage is unknown.

    The person responsible has been identified and referred to the Office of Conduct Standards, University police said.

  • Theft: Kathryn Fleming of 1128 W. Beaver Ave. reported that ski equipment including Rossignol skis, bindings, boots, poles, gloves and a sweatshirt were taken from a locker in late October at Tussey Mountain Ski Area, State College police said.

    She said when she went there in October someone else's lock was on the locker.

    The items are worth $820.

  • Theft: Kevin Dadey of 321 Hamilton Hall reported that a brown leather coat was taken from a closet during a party Friday night at 255 S. Atherton St., State College police said.

    The coat is worth $300.
