CCSG ignored again
This past weekend, the Council of Commonwealth Student Governments held its third council meeting of this academic year. As you may or may not know, there are three recognized student government organizations -- Undergraduate Student Government, Graduate Student Association and Commonwealth Campus Student Government. CCSG represents students at the 17 Commonwealth Campuses, Behrend College in Erie and Capitol College in Harrisburg. Overall, our constituency reflects 46 percent of the undergraduate population at Penn State. As of today, only two articles have appeared in the Collegian regarding our organization. The Weekly Collegian, which you advertise as "Penn State's all-university newspaper serving the Commonwealth Campuses and alumni," is nothing more than a compilation of old daily articles. In your Jan. 22 edition, there were only four articles that dealt with campus issues. There was no information at all about any of our sports teams or their schedules. Personally, I am proud of what the people in our Commonwealth Education System accomplish given the resources that are available to them. You might want to explore the benefits of our system and live up to your claims as the "newspaper serving the Commonwealth Campuses." We are an integral part of Penn State and deserve to be treated as such.
