Long lines, high prices and frustrated customers awaited students returning from winter break at area bookstores yesterday.
 
A cow used by the Hershey Medical Center for testing a mechanical heart died last month due to an apparent pulmonary infection and a possible glitch in the motor.
 
Alpha Chi Rho fraternity members deny that they are in danger of losing their newly built house, even though the county may force its sale because of an outstanding debt to a building materials supplier.
 
When Matt Jester applied to his major, he submitted his academic record and a written application.
 
The first execution in the state since 1962 is scheduled for 10 p.m. tomorrow at the State Correctional Institution at Rockview, about 10 miles from downtown State College.
