A fire on Route 322 in Harris Township destroyed an abandoned farmhouse early yesterday morning, State College Bureau of Police Services said.
The fire, about three miles east of Boalsburg, broke out shortly after 12:30 a.m. yesterday, said Joe Davidson, Boalsburg Fire Department chief.
The Boalsburg Fire Department brought the fire under control in about two hours with help from Alpha, Pleasant Gap and Logan Fire Departments, Davidson said.
The fire department believes the fire started in the northeast corner of the house near ground level.
There were no injuries, police said.
The cause of of the fire is not known, but is considered suspicious, he said. The Rockview State Police Fire Marshall will aid inthe investigation.
State College police are requesting that anyone with information about the fire call 234-7150.
