When I was a freshman I used to sit in the stands at Beaver Stadium and wonder what it would be like to be down there -- on the sidelines -- photographing the game. Well, several years and a dozen days on the field later, I now know what the other thousands of fans in the stadium are missing.
 
For Floyd Fisher, it was love at first sight. In fact, on the first Saturday of October, 1933, Fisher found two loves.
 
An important but often unmentioned factor which contributes to every Penn State victory is the team's outstanding physical condition. It should not go unnoticed that the Lions were in top shape for their opener against Georgia Tech. Responsibility for Penn State's year-round, state-of-the-art strength and conditioning program falls to Chet Fuhrman. Fuhrman has been the Lions' strength and conditioning coach since 1982 and his program is regarded as one of the country's best and safest. Collegian Magazine's Peter Faggen talked to Fuhrman about the Lions' program and a variety of other fitness-related topics.

The Cincinnati Bearcats are near the top of at least one top 25 poll.
 
People are still trying to figure out if Air Paterno was an illusion or a revolution. That's just one myth the Lions began to answer last week in the Kickoff Classic. Notorious slow starters was the other as No. 5 Penn State swarmed all over Georgia Tech, 34-22, last Wednesday night.
