University officials are hopeful that the results of last week's ultrasound testing on a support column in Beaver Stadium will reveal the full extent of cracks found during a routine inspection of the 10,300 seat addition. The cracks were found last month in one of the concrete columns that support the newly-constructed seating deck.

A new aviation center in the Pennsylvania College of Technology will provide students with a state-of-the-art facility and allow the college to accommodate future trends and innovations in the aviation industry.
 
Plans for the Urban Overlay District were put on hold Monday night when the State College Borough Council amended the ordinance to ensure properties are accessible to the public.

SPORTS
 
After combining to lead the Lady Lion field hockey team to a NCAA Final Four berth, the talented quartet of Eleanor Stone, Michelle Brennan, Kristin Winters and Jen Stewart has struck again. This time, it is at the United States Olympic Festival in Los Angeles. In the East squad's first four games, the Penn State group has scored seven of the team's ten goals. And today, they lead the team into the gold medal match against the West.
