Officials of the Central Pennsylvania Festival for the Arts are doing more scrimping than celebrating for the festival's silver anniversary in the wake of Gov. Robert P. Casey's decision to cut a $20,000 grant to the festival.

The softball team hit a roadblock inits quest for a .500 record. Kent State (9-10) took both games of yesterday's doubleheader, 4-2 and 5-0, to send the Lady Lions to 13-18.
 
Inconsistency finally caught up with the women's lacrosse team yesterday as it lost its first game of the season, 9-8, to Lafayette.
