Light 'em up

This is my second year at Penn State and one thing I've noticed is that when the weather begins to get nicer, one thing will be almost certain: People will be out in droves looking to swat a few yellow balls over a net in the center of a retangular slab of concrete. Or, in more common terms, they will be out to play tennis.

Another thing which spawns from this is that the lines of people waiting to get on a court will reach astronomical proportions, not unlike the one outside of Rec Hall's weight room on any given day.

My question is this: Why not alleviate this problem and have some of the courts around here lighted so that people can also play at night?

As I look around campus on any given night, I see a multitude of things lighted (ie. sidewalks, parking lots, outdoor playing fields and basketball courts.)

Yet I don't see one measly tennis court with lights, unless of course you want to belong to the indoor tennis club which many college students don't have the money for.

If Penn State can light a whole field then why can it not light a few tennis courts? Granted, most of the people here are mere hackers, but they enjoy getting out and hitting as much as anyone.

In my two year stint playing college tennis (not here at Penn State) I think the courts here are among the best I've seen. Yet, they still could be better. How about it USG? You got ice cream in Dough to Go. Now, how about some lights for the tennis courts?

Penn State is going Big Ten. Don't leave the tennis courts behind. Light those courts.
