Forgotten viewpoint
"Sexual orientation" has become a popular topic for discussion on campus lately. I think I've heard every viewpoint on this topic except for one. As a matter of fact, there is one viewpoint that never seems to be considered in any major issue on campus. I'm talking about God's viewpoint as given in the Bible. As for "sexual orientation" this is what God has to say: "Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. Although they know God's righteous decree that those that do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them" (Romans 1:26-27,32, New International Version.) We need to turn to God's word and His Son, for Jesus said, "If you abide in my word . . . you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free," (John 14:6, New American Standard version) and also "I am the way, and the truth, and the life: No one comes to the Father, but through me." (John 8:31,32, New American Standard version)
