Police Log

  • Criminal Mischief/Theft: Bob Baranick of HUB Food Services reported that three lockers in the men's locker room at the HUB were broken into Friday afternoon, University Police Services said. Several items, including a backpack and clothing, were taken, police said.

    Total value of the items and the estimated damage is $480, police said.

  • Criminal Mischief: An employee at Hardee's, 215 S. Atherton St., reported that several potted plants were damaged and a bathroom sink was ripped off the men's room wall early yesterday morning, State College police said.

    Damage was estimated at $400, police said.

  • Criminal Mischief: Todd Podbielski of 726 Beaver Hall reported that his car's windshield was smashed while the car was parked in Parking Lot 80 between March 10 and Friday, University Police said. Police estimate damage at $250.

  • Criminal Mischief: Matthew Thomas of 217 Stuart reported that a rear tire on his vehicle was slashed and the paint was scratched Saturday night or yesterday morning while it was parked in a lot near Snyder Hall, University police said.

    Police estimate damage at $200.

  • Criminal Mischief: Jarl Jonas, a University employee, reported yesterday morning that the Nittany Lion shrine was spray-painted yellow and green, University police said. It is not known when the shrine was painted, police said. No damage estimate was available.

  • Criminal Mischief: Kenneth Joseph of 617 McKean reported that window screens and other building furnishings were thrown from the sixth floor study lounge window of McKean Hall at about 11 p.m. Friday night, University police said.

    Police could not estimate the damage.

  • Criminal Mischief: Terrence A. Meier of 616 E. College Ave. reported that his car's rear window was broken Friday night or Saturday morning while the car was parked outside his residence, State College Bureau of Police Services said. A damage estimate was not available, police said.

  • Criminal Mischief: James Litherland of 709 Oak St. reported that his car's rear window was broken at about 1:10 yesterday morning while the car was parked at 200 Hetzel St., State College police said.

    A damage estimate was not available, police said.

  • Theft: Sukhi Jolly of 704 McKean reported that his blue Centurion bicycle was taken from a rack in front of McKean Hall Thursday or Friday, University police said.

    The bicycle is worth $480, police said.

  • Theft: Gregory Davis of 747 E. Beaver Ave. reported that two bicycles, each valued at $300, were taken from the balcony of his apartment sometime between 2:30 and 11 Wednesday morning, State College police said.

    One bike was a gray 18-speed mountain bike and the other was a red Bridgestone MB5 mountain bike, police said.
