Preserve ROTC

I encourage all veterans and members of ROTC to support Roger Czulewicz for USG president and vote for him on March 27.

Roger represents the average student at Penn State and is not making grandiose promises that are economically unfeasible. He is not making any promises to appease the small special interest groups that have dominated this campus for so long. What Roger does offer is competent, intelligent leadership for USG.

Roger has had the courage to oppose the sexual orientation clause and for that reason he is among the most honest of all candidates. The sexual orientation clause is a direct threat to ROTC and will punish those who receive scholarship money in return for their service to the country.

This clause will unfairly discriminate against ROTC cadets who have no control over U.S. Department of Defense policies against homosexuals. For this reason we will do everything to oppose this clause and will continue to do so until the Department of Defense changes its policies.

Roger offers the average person at Penn State competent and realistic leadership. Please vote for him on March 27 and make your voice heard.

Peter Huston
president, Penn State University Veterans Organization
