Chemicals explode in University lab: Rick Petrich of 9 Steidle reported a small chemical explosion in a fume hood in 10 Steidle, University Police Services said.
The explosion caused containers of chemicals to break, and a small amount of chemicals spilled onto the floor, police said. Police said no injuries resulted from the explosion.
Police said the building was evacuated while University safety officials cleaned up the spill.

Criminal Mischief: Pat Knouse of 115A Nittany reported a window broken on the northeast side of the building, University police said. The window was valued at $100, police said.
Police said the incident occurred between 4 and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Theft: Brian Leonard of 313 McKean reported that his guitar effect pedal, valued at $130, was taken from his room between Feb. 9 and Feb. 16, University police said.

Theft: Kirsten Rettig, 315 W. Beaver Ave., reported that her Pioneer stereo and speakers were taken from her car at a parking garage at 131 S. Fraser St. between Sunday and Wednesday, State College police said.
Police could not estimate the value of the items.
