Police Log

  • Woman injured in 3-car accident: A Centre Hall woman was injured in a three-car accident yesterday afternoon at the intersection of East Beaver Avenue and Hetzel Street, State College Bureau of Police Services said.

    Police said Carolyn M. Heltman was injured when her car hit the rear of a car driven by William Ohern, 543 Lanceshire Lane. A third vehicle, driven by David Fees of Bellefonte, then hit Heltman's car in the rear, police said.

    Heltman was taken to Centre Community Hospital, treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.

  • Burglary/Theft: Alphonse Lemanski, 300 Meadowlark Lane, reported that his house was entered through a locked window and rings, a knife, watches and the contents of a jewelry box were taken, State College police said.

    Police said the incident occurred between 9:20 and 11 a.m. Tuesday, and they have no suspects.

  • Theft: Mary Jester of 222 Thompson reported that her French horn was taken Monday or Tuesday from the Music Building practice room, University police said.

    The instrument is worth $1,500, police said.

  • Theft: Larry Bolden, Brenda Foster and Reid Baker, all of 727 Southgate Drive, reported that 50 compact discs, valued at $835, were taken from their home between 4 and 8 p.m. Tuesday, State College police said.

  • Theft: Glenn Bodow, 424 E. Fairmount Ave., reported that his jacket, gold bracelet and watch, valued at $740, were taken from Delta Chi fraternity, same address, on Sunday, State College police said.

  • Theft: Thomas Dimick of 204 Borland reported that a $600 microwave was taken from 209 Borland Tuesday or yesterday, University police said.

    It is not known if the room was locked, police said.

  • Theft: Pauline Ponish of 10A Beaver Hall reported that a wood chair with green cushions was taken from the Beaver Hall TV lounge Tuesday or yesterday, University police said.

    The chair is worth $248, police said.
