Church damaged in attempted burglary: A man was arrested at 1:36 a.m. yesterday and charged with trying to burglarize the Faith United Methodist Church in Spring Township, Rockview State Police said.
Police said Lynn Calvin Weaver, 34, of RD2 Bellefonte, set off a silent alarm after he entered the church through a window. Police from Rockview and Bellefonte said they responded to the alarm and caught Weaver as he fled.
Nothing was taken from the church, but damage is estimated at $200 to $400, police said.

Bike thrown from 10th floor of Tener: University Police Services said an unknown person or persons threw a bicycle from the 10th floor window of Tener Hall early yesterday morning.
Police were responding to a report made by Mike Segal, 408 Pinchot, who said he heard glass breaking near Tener Hall between 4:20 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. yesterday morning, police said.
There was no damage estimate on the window or bicycle, police said.

Theft: James Medvec of 3153 Shellers Bend reported that his $1,100 21-speed bicycle was taken from the 100 block of Sowers Street Sunday night or yesterday morning, State College Bureau of Police Services said.

Theft: Robert A. Land of 739B W. Whitehall Road reported that his $250 silver Centurion bicycle was taken from his porch railing on Feb. 9, State College police said.
A piece of railing was removed to take the bicycle, police said.
