Police Log

  • Assault: Todd See of 200 W. College Ave. reported that he was hit in the mouth by an unknown man at the All-American Rathskeller, 108 S. Pugh St., State College police said.

    Police said the incident occurred at 10:18 p.m. Friday.

    See was transported to Centre Community Hospital where he was treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.

  • Bomb Threat: Employees of Campus Casino, 320 E. College Ave., reported that they received a bomb threat at 1:19 a.m. yesterday, State College police said.

    Police said the employees and a patrolman searched the building and found no bomb.

  • Burglary: Mark Allen Way of Pottstown was arraigned before District Justice Robert May on Saturday on charges of burglary, criminal mischief and public drunkenness, State College police said.

    Police said a patrolman caught Way after he broke a window and entered a building at 119 S. Fraser St. at 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

    Way is being held on $1,000 bail at the Centre County Prison, police said.

  • Criminal Mischief: Lori Martin, an Office of Physical Plant employee, reported that graffiti was written on the exterior steps of Wartik Lab on Thursday, University Police Services said.

    "Life, never take it seriously" and "Mindless confusion" were spray-painted in orange, police said. No damage estimate was available.

  • Robbery: Amy Smith, 21, reported that she was knocked to the ground and robbed at the Fairmount Avenue Park, 500 E. Fairmount Ave., State College police said.

    Police said Smith was approached at 12:45 a.m. Saturday by a man who said he would injure her if she screamed. The man took an undisclosed amount of money and Smith's identification, police said.

    Police said the man may have been armed with a sharp object.

  • Theft: Jeffrey Parker of 116 Edith St. reported that a $1,500 bass amplifier and $300 speaker cabinet were taken from 110 Music between Jan. 16 and Feb. 4, University police said.

    It is unknown if the room was locked, police said.

  • Theft: Reginald W. Goeke of 281 Homan Ave. reported that a citizens band radio, radar detector, tape case and 36 cassette tapes, valued at $910, were taken from his locked car, State College police said.

    Police said the theft occurred between 6 p.m. Friday and 12 p.m. Saturday.

  • Theft: Richard Pankratz of 527 W. Beaver Ave. reported that his $500 21-speed bicycle was taken Friday afternoon from the south side of the Intramural Building, University police said.

    The bicycle was locked to a bicycle rack, police said.
