Students and faculty members expressed mixed feelings about last night's State of the Union address.
 
Gov. Robert P. Casey released $31.4 million on Monday for University construction projects, including an academic and athletic convocation center, as part of his program to stimulate Pennsylvania's economy.
 
Some graduate students could face delays in completing their programs of study, if a Graduate Council recommendation is followed.
 
What started as a quiet seminar on rock music erupted into a verbal brawl last night between a heavy-metal rock musician turned born-again Christian and his audience.
 
The end of the holiday season often signals the beginning of diets.
 
State College Borough Council member Jean W. McManis hopes to work with the community if she is re-elected.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Before last night's women's basketball game at Maryland, the Lady Lions knew that the key to success was stopping the Lady Terrapins from pounding the ball inside for easy layups and in-the-paint jump shots.
 
After his five brothers played football at North Rockland High School in Haverstraw, New York, Phil Caraher went into his freshman year in high school not wanting to do much of anything. He wanted to be left alone and not be just another Caraher.
