Every time I turn around, another brother or sister has fallen victim to this white system. Yusef Hawkins, Eleanor Bumpurs, Tawana Brawley, Michael Stewart and Michael Griffith all were victims of continuing racism against African-Americans.
The latest conspiracy to destroy our black boys manifested itself in the Central Park jogger case. On April 19, 1989, a white woman was allegedly raped by eight teenagers, six African-Americans and two Hispanics, in a so-called "wilding" episode.
My immediate conclusion was that the boys were innocent. I believed she was raped, but the teenagers didn't do it. But I knew the teenagers would end up in prison. After all, they must have done it. Aren't black men nothing but white woman chasers and rapists?
In the next couple days, while the nation was consumed with this case, another sister fell victim, only worse. In the same city, a 38-year-old black woman was forced onto a roof at knifepoint, raped by two white men and thrown off the rooftop to her death.
Hardly a thing was said. I didn't see anything on the news, and even less in the newspapers. Meanwhile, all I heard about was the Central Park jogger case. The media continued referring to boys as a "pack" -- as in wolves. White people immediately believed the story along with some brainwashed African-Americans.
In fact, The New York Times did more than 150 stories on the Central Park jogger case and only three on this sister. The same week of the Central Park jogger attack there were 28 other first-degree rapes or attempted rapes reported in New York City.
It didn't take the "justice" system long to convict the suspects. In the first trial, Antron McCray, 17, Yusef Salaam, 17, and Raymond Santana, 16, each were convicted of rape, assault, robbery and riot. Each received five to 10 years. At age 18, the boys will be moved to prison to serve the remainder of their sentence.
In December, Kevin Richardson who was 16 received five to 10 years for attempted murder, rape, sodomy and robbery. Kharey Wise, 18, was sentenced as an adult and received five to 15 years for sexual abuse, assault and riot.
The convictions are a joke and demonstrate exactly how racist the criminal justice system is. If ever there was a case filled with circumstantial evidence, this is it. These boys should have never been indicted, let alone put on trial.
The victim testified that she remembers nothing about the attack and according to her doctors, she never will. Despite these glaring discrepancies, the prosecutors persisted, determined to see these young brothers put away. The cops added fuel to the fire by saying the attack couldn't have been done by one person. Police also said the victim's blood was found on the clothing of three defendants. Prosecutors said a month later it was found on only one.
During the trial, Detective Thomas W. McKenna testified that he tricked Yusef Salaam into confessing his guilt. That sounds like entrapment to me.
The biggest discrepancy was betweem the DNA tests performed on sperm and blood samples from each of the six defendants and that found on the victim. All six turned up negative. But the lynching continues. Why? Well, according to the police, the defendants confessed to the crime and they had the videotapes to prove it.
You know what I think? The police coerced the brothers into confessing to the crime. Either they scared it out of them or they used trickery and deception. So the brothers just confessed, hoping the police would let them go. Then the police, like the snakes they are, tricked them. Now the young brothers are facing hard time. Their future has been wiped out.
This case demonstrates the double standard. Every Central Park defendant has been convicted and hit with a heavy sentence. I don't even know if the two snakes who murdered the sister received any jail time because it's not in the papers. The media publicized the brutalization of this white woman but said nothing about the killing of the African-American woman.
It's all clear to me now. A white woman's life is worth more than a sister's life. We don't have to seek proper punishment because she was "just a nigger anyway."
I am a devout follower of Malcolm X and his teachings. One of his patented phrases is, "We are nonviolent with those who are nonviolent with us but we are not nonviolent with anyone who is violent with us." The evidence is clear: White people have been very violent to us brothers and sisters.
Since it's obvious that white people do not value the lives of African-Americans, we must start sending the message that it is no longer open season on our brothers and sisters. We will defend ourselves by any means necessary, including violence. We will no longer allow the white man to rape and murder black women. I have a mother and two sisters and straight up, if a white man raped one of them, I would kill him. I would kill a black man too, if he did the same thing.
Any white man that we catch who has raped one of our sisters be made into an example. By made an example of, I do not mean handing these snakes over to the racist criminal justice system. This is not an option. We will either castrate them or kill them.
As far as you pseudo-brothers and lost brothers are concerned, it's time for you to take a good, hard look in the mirror and decide whether our black woman --the backbone of the black community for all times, good and bad -- is worth defending. The answer to me is obvious.
