Support troops

I am writing in response to yesterday's anti-war demonstration outside Pattee. The propensity for ill-informed citizens to hop on the preverbial bandwagon is astonishing. Chants of "it's not too late, send our boys home now" and "no blood for oil" are becoming popular cries. But a key point is being missed. It is too late. The U.S. committed itself to the United Nation's resolution, and the attack is already in progress.

Our "boys," the men and women on duty in the Middle East, chose their careers. They were fully aware when enlisting that they might be sent into battle. They are willing to fight for the U.S. So why don't we in the U.S. support them while they do it? This war is not about oil, it is about human freedom. So rather than protesting, why not be proud of our soldiers? They are fighting for this country's values.
