Bombs bursting in air may be part of the Fourth of July holiday tradition, but the pyrotechnic marvels should be launched only by licensed professionals, according to the State College Bureau of Police Services.
 
Ruth Lavin was unanimously elected president of the State College Borough Council last night after serving about two months as the council's interim president.
 
The University raised more than $352 million in private contributions through the Campaign for Penn State, University President Bryce Jordan announced yesterday at a ceremony marking the campaign's completion.
 
The University might never have a Commonwealth campus on Mars, but as a newly named space grant university it will be a part of future development in outer space.
 
Although there is no weekend to look forward to this Fourth of July, students are still busy planning how to enjoy their one-day holiday.
