Shawn Cosmas and Greg Hunt competed for placement in the Penn State High School Jazz Band Camp, but the close friends are more interested in developing their individual skills than competing against each other. People who believe A Shayna Maidel looks like a heavy-handed nostalgia piece will be glad to know it requires nothing more of its audience than sincere appreciation.
