An inmate from the State Correctional Institute at Rockview stood in the the prison yard surrounded by high, chain fences topped with barbed wire and talked about "out there," as if it were as distant as the moon.
 
A former University graduate student has filed a $50,000 civil suit in U.S. District Court alleging that University President Bryce Jordan and five members of University Police Services violated his First Amendment rights.
 
Graduate Student Association President Ken Martin was elected chairman of the University Student Advisory Board yesterday, following a three-day retreat which focused on leadership skills training.
 
Two inmates from the Centre County Juvenile Detention Center in Benner Township escaped at 6:35 Saturday night, state police at Rockview said.
