While most caddies carry one bag, few are ambitious enough to carry two. Before the first pitch was even thrown against Duquesne last weekend, Penn State had already lost. The Lions lost one of their top pitchers in Gary Miller, who would most likely miss the rest of the season because of mononucleosis. Duquesne was simply outmanned when it faced Penn State for a pair of doubleheaders this past weekend, and the Lions took advantage as they pounded the Dukes 7-1, 8-0, 6-3, and 6-0. The mark of a good team in any sport is that it takes advantage of opportunities. An even better team may win despite not taking advantage such chances. Just when the Lions thought it was over, the indoor track and field season came back and with it came good news for the men's track and field team. The boxing club took three individual national titles -- more than any other school -- and finished second in this weekend's college boxing championships at Santa Clara, Calif. Rutgers midfielder Greg Rinaldi sprinted the length of the field on a fast break and bounced a one-hopper past men's lacrosse goalie J.J. Pearl in sudden-death overtime. The first ever Lady Lion Blue Classic this weekend lived up to its name. Of the five teams in the tournament field -- Penn State, Canisus, Robert Morris, Monmouth and North Carolina-Greensboro -- four had school colors that were some variation of blue and white. BETHLEHEM -- For most of Saturday's women's lacrosse game, the Lehigh spectators didn't have to look at their programs to identify the scoring machine on the Penn State team. Both the sun and the women's track team shined from Thursday through Saturday in Knoxville during the Dogwood Relays as nearly every finish was a lifetime and or season best performance. Although it put together one of its best team efforts of the season, the men's tennis team still couldn't pull out a victory against Navy.
