A new type of suds will soon be brewed at the East College Avenue location of two former laundromats.
 
University President Bryce Jordan on Friday blamed chronic state underfunding for tuition increases and called for greater flexibility in proposed tuition caps.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Hitting its lowest score since Feb. 10, the women's gymnastics team fell prey to its own lack of intensity and a determined Ohio State team at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships on Saturday night.
 
First baseman John Schreiner deposited three of the five pitches he was thrown over the outfield fence to set a school record in the first game of a doubleheader against Lafayette yesterday.
 
With the crowd watching in silence Saturday night at Rec Hall, Mark Sohn flawlessly performed his pommel horse routine and scored the first 10 at Rec Hall since 1983.
 
The spotlight kept shifting and fame was short-lived at the NCAA Men's Gymnastics Eastern Regional Championships at Rec Hall Saturday night.
 
After the championship match of the Ball State Tournament on Saturday night, the coaches and players on the men's volleyball team finally had to admit that the host Cardinals have a superior team.

The men's lacrosse team persistently knocked on University of Maryland-Baltimore County's door Saturday afternoon, only to be answered by a return visit to the Lion goal. In the end, though, the Lions stopped for a visit two too many times, winning the game, 12-10.
 
Despite not having its starting goalie, the women's lacrosse team took a 5-0 lead and went on to defeated Dartmouth, 7-5, yesterday in Hanover, N.H.
 
Some wind, rain and cold temperatures made competing for the men's track and field team a little tough Friday and Saturday at the Colonial Relays.
 
On Friday, over 35 universities across the country celebrated the third annual National Student-Athlete Day. Penn State observed the occasion by having a panel discussion with athletes and a "Nittany Trot" -- a run around the campus with athletes.
 
As the softball team prepared to battle Atlantic 10 rivals Rhode Island and Massachusetts this weekend freshman pitcher Dawn Hoover wasn't sure what to expect.
 
Even though it was playing in weather more suited for football than softball, the softball team got excellent pitching and clutch hitting to go 3-1 over the weekend at Lady Lion Field.
 
The women's tennis team continued to roll this weekend as it won three important matches Saturday and yesterday against Rutgers, Boston University and West Virginia.
