I have to ask why.
Why did The Daily Collegian need to print that trash concerning Janyne Althaus' and Bill Novick's term as USG executives? What did it accomplish? What was its intent?
I was one of the first to criticize the Althaus-Novick administration whenever I did not agree with them. My intent was to promote change from Janyne and Bill, not to publicly reprimand them as the Collegian has so often felt it should.
Janyne and Bill accomplished what they promised. Janyne has also been an incredibly strong student leader and role model for the women on this campus. I don't agree with everything she did, but I admire her for taking a stand and sticking to it. This campus needs more people like her.
The banner of the Collegian reads, "Published by the STUDENTS of the Pennsylvania State University." I wish that the Collegian would remember that it is a STUDENT newspaper when it decides to write editorials.
If the Collegian prides itself on being a professional, progressive newspaper, it should look toward the future, not be overly negative and critical of the past. Once again, the editorial opinion has done nothing but hurt the image of USG, again.
