  • Four taken to hospital after intersection accident: Four people were injured in Bellefonte when two cars collided Saturday afternoon, Bellefonte police said.

James Leigey, his daughter Nicole, John Keefer Sr. and John Keefer Jr. were treated and released from Centre Community Hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said. The four were injured when a vehicle driven by Mark Jackson of Hollidaysburg rammed into their car at the intersection of West Lamb and North Water streets, police said.

The accident occurred when Jackson, believing the roads to be clear, started through the intersection, police said. Leigey's vehicle rolled three times before coming to rest against a guardrail, police said.

  • Splattered eggs result in arrest of naked men: A police investigation into an egg-throwing battle against a fraternity prompted the citation of three naked men yesterday morning, State College Bureau of Police Services said.

Police were called to Triangle fraternity, 226 E. Beaver Ave., to investigate people throwing eggs at the building between 6 and 7 yesterday morning. Members of Triangle alleged the eggs were thrown by members of the fraternity next door, Phi Kappa Sigma, 234 E. Beaver Ave., police said.

Officers knocked on the door of Phi Kappa Sigma and when no one answered they went into the lobby to see the president, police said. At 7:55 several naked men came running into the lobby from outside and jogged past the officers, police said.

Three of the men were cornered in the lobby by police. Two said they were Phi Kappa Sigma members and one said he was from Evanston, Ill., police said. Because they did not have any cards, police relied on verbal identification of the men.

"They had just been out for a jog in the nude," Cpl. Rick L. Garis said, adding that none of the men who entered the lobby had any eggs in their possession.

  • $15,000 in precious coins taken from Bellefonte home: More than $15,000 in gold and silver coins and other items were reported taken from the home of Thomas Ellis, Pauline Street in Philipsburg sometime between 5 and 9 Friday night, state police at Philipsburg said.

The back door of the house was reportedly pried open to gain entry, police said. In addition to three metal boxes containing the coins, burglars took a German Luger pistol with a black holster and belt and assorted jewelry items, police said. The value of the pistol and jewelry is not known, police said.

  • Drivers are not injured during two-car collision: A car driven by John M. Mikulute, 20, 14308 Parkvale Road, Rockville, Md., sideswiped another car driven by Christopher R. Kovacs, 1982 Easthill Drive, Bethlehem, at the intersection of South Garner Street and Calder Way Saturday night, State College police said. No one was injured.

Mikulute was turning his car south onto Garner Street from Calder Way and apparently took the corner too wide, police said. The front right fender of Mikulute's car struck the front right fender of Kovacs' car, police said. Both cars were slightly damaged.

  • Criminal Mischief: Two men were cited for rocking a telephone booth outside 151 S. Garner St. at 12:08 yesterday morning while a female was in the booth making a phone call, State College police said.

  • Harassment: A University student was harassed by a male non-student when he attempted to shut down a party in Mifflin Hall Friday night, University police said. The man trespassed into the student's dorm room and started an altercation.

The man was cited and released, police said. An investigation is continuing.

  • Theft: Two $100 10-speed bicycles owned by Robert Merritt, 445 Waupelani Drive, were reported taken sometime between March 19 and March 31, State College police said.
