Attend Spring Week

Over 30 Years ago, a tradition was founded at Penn State for students and faculty alike -- it was called Spring Week.

Back then, Spring Week had carnival rides and silly games. In the 70s, the Greek system took Spring Week in hand to make Greek week . Greek week lasted until last year, with little participation from other student organizations.

Now things have come full circle.

The new Spring Week has a new outlook with even more exciting events. This year, Spring Week '90 will be kicked off by carnival rides at Beaver Stadium Lawn, as originally done, and the Phi Psi 500.

Throughout the week there will be games, a spaghetti-eating contest, a Lion Ambassador Old Main Open House, and even a Thursday movie night on the HUB lawn. Spring Week '90 will conclude with a benefit show, Phi Sig Superstars, and the AOPi Football Challange.

The Overall Spring Week Committee is making a conscientious effort to include activities to interest ALL the students. Eventually, Spring Week may be two weeks long and include the Blue-White Game and Regatta. Spring Week will be as big a tradition as Homecoming.

We invite all the students to celebrate Penn State's newest tradition March 30 through April 8, with the theme "PS and U -- The 80s in Review." All proceeds benefit the Youth Service Bureau's Big Brother/Big Sister Program of Centre County. Come out and enjoy one of the benefits of being a Penn Stater!
