Joe Walsh, a former guitarist for the Eagles, will highlight the 16th annual Beta Sigma Beta Sy Barash Regatta April 22, while organizers aim to make the spring tradition more of a carnival with new events and professional food caterers.
 
Scott Brunenavs earned spending money last semester by working at the University ice skating rink as a part of the College Work-Study program.
 
A proposal to augment federal revenue by taxing sources other than personal income will slash the nation's massive deficit without breaking President Bush's campaign vows, Sen. Bob Packwood said here yesterday.
 
Seventy fewer students applied for the student representative position on the University Board of Trustees, despite a two-week deadline extension. Thirty students applied this year compared to 100 last year.
 
When the moon's crescent becomes visible, members of the Muslim Student Association will begin to fast in observance of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar.

Beating up on Division II Shippensburg was certainly nice for the women's lacrosse team last week. And defeating Colgate on Sunday surely brought a smile to the faces of most team members. But today, the Lady Lions get busy.
 
Despite playing with different rules and in a smaller arena, the field hockey team posted a 2-1-1 record this past weekend at the National Field Hockey Association Indoor Tournament at Maryland.

The music of environmentalist / musician Paul Winter and his five-member Paul Winter Consort has often been referred to as unique; the Altoona native features recorded animal voices ranging from whales and timberwolves in his group's albums.
