Let's put the blame where it belongs, the University is divided into separate entities.

The academic, headed by Dr. Bryce Jordan. The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, headed by James Tarmin. Also, the Departments of Housing and Food; the Creamery; the Bookstore; The Nittany Lion Inn, etc. All of these are separate unto themselves.

As I understand it, each of these departments is responsible for its own administration, finances and decisions. Thus, Tarman alone, made the decision of choosing the NIT over the NCAA for Rec Hall and is solely responsible for this choice.

Since money is of such importance to Tarman, may I suggest scheduling a game between the men and women's basketball teams be held within the next two weeks -- women's rules and ball. I believe Rec Hall could be filled for such a game. Let's go for it.
