Join hearing board
The Student Hearing Board at Penn State hears cases involving those students who violate University rules and policies in relation to the residence halls. By hearing the circumstances of the case we decide as a board whether or not the accused was in fact guilty of the violation. Upon determining the person was not in accordance with the University policy we impose the appropriate sanction upon the individual. As a member of the Student Hearing Board with aspirations to go to law school I am given the opportunity to get first-hand experience in legal procedures. Additionally, the Student Hearing Board gives me a great chance to get involved with the University. I can actually make a contribution and have an impact upon what happens at Penn State. We are presently recruiting new members for the board and taking applications until March 23. The Student Hearing Board can offer you a great chance to learn about various legalities and University regulations while becoming very involved in what is happening at Penn State. As long as you are living in the dorms when you apply you are eligible. Upon being accepted you are permitted to live anywhere off campus. We need you to have the experience of living in the residence halls for at least one year. If you are interested in possibly becoming a member of the Student Hearing Board feel free to pick up an application at the Information Desk in the Boucke Building.
