Support Phi Psi 500

For 21 years, the Phi Psi 500 has been a Penn State tradition. In addition to being a fun afternoon for both participants and spectators, our event has raised nearly $250,000 for worthy Centre County charities.

Our charity for this year is the Association for Retarded Citizens. This organization helps retarded people get jobs in the community.

Our event this year will center around groups dressing up in costumes, and performing some type of skit. Although the brothers of Phi Psi want all participants to have a great time, costumes and themes must be socially responsible. The University's statement on Acts of Intolerance is a policy to which we will adhere.

Basically, the code stresses that "harassment of any individual or group based on such factors as race, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, or political or religious belief is a violation of University policy." Therefore, any groups failing to follow this code will not be allowed to participate in our event.

Our race was founded not only to benefit a worthwhile charity, but also to give students the opportunity to creatively perform and entertain the community at large.

This year, we are insisting that participants make a special effort to respect the rights of all members of this community in both the themes of their costumes, and in the nature of their performances. This rule is not intended to inhibit your creativity, but simply to ensure that the Phi Psi 500 will remain a Penn State tradition for years to come.

The brothers of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity and the sisters of Chi Omega sorority would like to thank the town of State College, and the students of Penn State for their continued support.

We are looking forward to making the 22nd annual Phi Psi 500 the best one ever.
