Most recognition
As a former colleague of Brad Haartz in the USG Senate, I wholeheartedly support the Haartz/DeLong ticket as being the most qualified to lead the Undergraduate Student body in a productive fashion. I urge the Latino/Hispanic community to vote for the ticket which will finally give us an active voice at Penn State. In making the Latino/Hispanic students concerns more visible, the Haartz/DeLong ticket recognizes the fact that we need a central location specifically set aside to gather and disperse information and to encourage a cohesive Latino/Hispanic community. As a senator, Haartz has impressed me with the clarity of his arguments, the logic behind his actions and a strong refusal to succumb to petty political pressure. His active representation as the LGSA liaison has given Brad a unique perspective on underrepresented groups. Brad's sincerity and commitment in pursuing the achievement of their goals supersedes any other candidate. The Haartz/DeLong ticket has been the ONLY ticket which has satisfactorily addressed the ambiguity of the administration's definition of a "minority" by beginning to break down this label which has stifled the progress of underrepresented people. They know the concerns of the fastest growing group of underrepresented people -- the Latino/Hispanics. This step will definitely aid the retainment and recruitment which has been a constant problem at this institution. Latinos, as well as other underrepresented groups, can begin to look forward to individual attention regarding their concerns and most pressing needs. The Haartz/DeLong ticket have demonstrated leadership ability and sensitivity to Latino/Hispanics whose concerns and representation have been neglected in the past. Latinos, don't hesitate! Voten por nosotros. Voten Haartz/DeLong este Miercoles.
