Undergraduate Student Government Vice President Bill Novick has endorsed Brad Haartz and Doug DeLong for the USG presidential/vice presidential ticket.
"Some tickets have concerns already addressed and accomplished by past administrations," Novick said. "It is a shame. But I am also seeing grandiose platforms being stated. They are throwing out massive problems but not stating a solution."
Novick endorsed the ticket separate from USG President Janyne Althaus. Althaus said she does not plan to endorse anyone and that Novick had a right to endorse someone if he wanted to.
Novick said some of the issues he supports include protest of building on Pollock field, concentration on education over research, expansion of the escort service and the addition of more students on to administrative policy-making boards.
Novick said he supports the Haartz/Delong ticket because it focuses on long-term and short-term goals.
"There is going to be a window with the new (University) president," Novick said. "The slate is clean. They are the most capable of addressing concerns through that window."
Continuing efforts by past USG executives is important, Novick said.
"They've shown they can build on accomplishments of past administrators and come up with their own ideas," Novick said.
