Gender issue
Coach Parkhill was wrong when he said, "This is not a gender issue," in reference to the administration's decision to move the women's basketball team out of Rec Hall -- and to Florida -- for the first game of the NCAA tournament. It's easy to tell when there's a "gender issue," just reverse the genders of the players and replay the story. For example let's say that the men's basketball team had won the Atlantic 10 conference and a chance to play a home game in the NCAA tournament. And let's say that the women's team did not get into the NCAA tournament but instead were to play in an alternate tournament. Then imagine that the men's was bumped out of its home game spot and sent on the road to Florida so that the women could play in Rec Hall. Hard to imagine? Then there is a gender issue here, Coach Parkhill. Congrats to both teams on their wins last night.
