Police are still investigating a downtown fight that allegedly took place early Feb. 4 and is claimed by one University student to be racially motivated.
Sgt. Diane Conrad of State College Bureau of Police Services said she has contacted all but two people connected with a fight between two black students and about five white students.
Marvin Moore (sophomore-economics) and Malcom Anderson (sophomore-division of undergraduate studies) were allegedly attacked by about five white men at McDonald's, 442 E. College Ave., after one of the men allegedly kicked Moore's car and broke a taillight.
Last month, Moore and Anderson said the men made racially derogatory comments, but police said they were unaware of racial motivation in the incident.
Conrad said she is conducting the investigation at Moore's request to determine if charges of ethnic intimidation and simple assault can be brought into the case.
Moore said he met with Conrad Feb. 13 to discuss further charges, but has not heard anything about the case since then. He said he will press charges of simple assault and ethnic intimidation if the investigation proves he can.
Conrad would not comment further on the case status until the investigation is finished.
Repairs to Moore's car cost about $115, he said. A criminal mischief citation was issued for the damage, but Moore said he has not yet been reimbursed for the repairs.
