Man hospitalized following accident with utility pole: A Philipsburg man was admitted to the Altoona Hospital with head injuries after a one-car accident in Rush Township late Sunday night, state police at Philipsburg said. He will face charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, police said.
Michael Myers was driving east on Lochlomond Road at 11:10 Sunday night when he lost control of his car, crossed the road and hit a utility pole, police said. Myers' car struck the house of John Stockley before coming to rest, police said. Hospital officials would not release any information last night.

Spring Mills woman injured in car crash on Route 407: A Spring Mills woman received minor injuries after a one-car accident yesterday morning, state police at Rockview said.
Karen Stitzer, 36, was driving on Route 407 in Greg Township when she lost control of her car and it hit a tree, police said. Stitzer's car was totaled in the accident.

Merchandise taken from gift shop on Allen Street: An unknown amount of merchandise was reported taken from Ethel Messerve Gifts, 127 S. Allen St., sometime between December and yesterday, State College Bureau of Police Services said.
The quantity of items taken was not available, but the missing items include ceramic elephants, valued from $35 to $50 each, crystal vases, valued at $95 each, and miniature clocks, valued from $89 to $165 each, police said.

Criminal Mischief: A window was reported broken on the third-floor hallway of Lyons Hall sometime Sunday night, University Police Services said. No damage estimate was available.

Disorderly Conduct: A man who was detained by University police for an outstanding warrant became disorderly while in custody and resisted arrest, University police said. The man, who is not a student, was arraigned and transported to Centre County Prison.

Theft: Bob Titzer, 419 Weymouth Circle, reported his bicycle was taken from the east side of the HUB sometime between Feb. 22 and March 6, University police said. The bike was valued at $200.

Theft: Several items were reported taken from a car belonging to Marcia M. Mitchell while it was parked outside 821 Southgate Drive between midnight and 1 Sunday afternoon, State College police said.
The items were a pair of Gargoyle sunglasses, valued at $70; a black cassette case, valued at $20 and about 60 cassette tapes, valued between $480 and $560, police said.
