Vehicles damaged in separate incidents over the weekend: Several local vehicles were damaged in unrelated incidents over the weekend, State College Bureau of Police Services said.
A car belonging to Maria Kalinowsky, 925 Bellaire Ave., was vandalized sometime between Saturday and Sunday, police said. The car's windshield was smashed, the windshield wipers were bent and the trunk was dented from someone walking on it, police said.
Also overnight Saturday, the rear driver's side door of a car belonging to Young, Oaks, Brown and Co. of Altoona was damaged while it was parked outside 340 E. Beaver Ave., police said. The cause is unknown.
Earlier, the windshield of a car belonging to Walter Dunn, 635 E. Hamilton Ave., was smashed sometime between Friday and Saturday, police said. No further information was available.
Police did not have damage estimates for any of the incidents.

Man hospitalized after car leaves road and hits tree: A man is in stable condition in Centre Community Hospital after a one-car accident early yesterday morning, hospital officials said.
Michael Crawford, 20, no address given, was driving on Waupelani Drive near Southgate Drive when his car left the road and struck a tree at 5:10 yesterday morning, State College police said. Police are still investigating the accident.

Driver falls asleep at wheel but suffers only scratches: A Bellefonte man was only scratched after his car fell down an embankment near Potter Township at 11:55 Saturday night, state police at Rockview said.
Kenneth E. Wildsmith, 39, reportedly fell asleep while driving his car west on Route 45, police said. His car crossed the roadway, fell down an embankment and hit a tree, police said. Wildsmith's car received severe damage from the accident.

Burglary: An unknown person pried open the windows of Bookswap, 110 S. Fraser St., and took cash from the cash register, State College police said. Police would not disclose the amount of money taken.

Burglary: Someone took two cash boxes with an undisclosed amount of money from the Nittany Gymnastics School, 2300 Commercial Blvd., sometime between Friday and Saturday, State College police said.

Criminal Mischief: A car belonging to Sandra Hersh, 257 E. Nittany Ave., was pushed into the middle of the road outside her residence and some clothes were taken from the car, State College police said. The turn signal, light switch and a drivers-side door speaker were also broken, police said.

Theft: An AM/FM cassette radio, valued at $450, and a camcorder, value unknown, were reported taken from a car belonging to Ronald Farber of Huntington Valley while it was parked outside 1919 S. Atherton St. Friday, State College police said. The car, which was reported locked, was entered sometime between 4:30 and 5 Friday afternoon, police said.

Theft: Clothes and personal items valued at $450 belonging to Ian Wallace of Fuslang were reported taken from his car while it was parked outside 127 E. Hamilton Ave., State College police said. The incident happened sometime between Saturday and Sunday, police said.

Theft: A $200 bicycle owned by Walter Long, 27 College View Trailer Park, was reported taken from his porch sometime between 7 and 9 Saturday morning, State College police said. The bike was not locked, police said.

Theft: A Sears mountain bike valued at $150 and belonging to Kathleen George was reported taken Friday morning, State College police said. George parked the bike on the porch of 524 N. Burrowes St. at about 1:30 a.m. and noticed the bike was missing about 10 minutes later, police said.

Theft: A slide projector, valued at $554, was reported taken from 162 Fenske Laboratory Friday morning, University Police Services said.
