PSU student dies following cardiac arrest in Beaver Hall: A University student found unconscious Feb. 22 in the third floor Beaver Hall men's room died in Centre Community Hospital the same day, University Police Services said.
Rajesh K. Babbar, 20, a resident in Beaver Hall, died at 4:56 p.m. after two other residents found him lying in the bathroom, police said. A Ritenour Health Center ambulance transported Babbar to the hospital where he died of a cardiac arrest.
Centre County Assistant Coroner Kerry Benninghoff, who performed the autopsy, said the cause of the cardiac arrest is still under investigation.
No other details were available.

Student recovering after 20-ft. drop down shaft: A University student was in satisfactory condition at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville yesterday, a week after falling down an apartment building's elevator shaft.
Kathryn A. Bower, no age available, fell about 20 feet down the shaft at University Towers, 458 E. College Ave., at about 1:30 on the afternoon of Feb. 25, State College Bureau of Police Services said. She was attempting to escape from an elevator stuck between the first and second floors, police said.
Bower was removed from the elevator shaft by Alpha Ambulance and Centre Community Hospital paramedics and transported to Centre Community Hospital with a severe head injury. Bower was later flown by LifeFlight helicopter to Geisinger, a spokeswoman for the center said.

Rockview police looking for missing Milesburg 13-year-old: State police at Rockview are searching for a 13-year-old Milesburg boy who has been missing since Friday.
Police said Douglas D. Doherty, was reported missing from his Mill Street home in Milesburg at 5:15 Friday night. He is 5-feet 4-inches tall with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans and anyone with information is requested to contact the state police.

Police catch possible prowler near Lion's Gate Apartments: A suspected prowler was apprehended at the Lion's Gate Apartments, 424 Waupelani Drive, Saturday night by State College police.
Police responded Saturday to complaints from apartment managers and apprehended a man by the apartments. Police did not release the man's name or any further details because charges have not yet been filed.

Bombs and rifles located by Clearfield police Feb. 20: A number of homemade bombs and automatic assault rifles were found by Clearfield state police on Feb. 20 near the Glen-Gery brickyard.
A warrant has been issued for a male suspect, state police said.
The U.S. Army Explosive Ordinance detachment from Fort Indiantown Gap, located near Harrisburg, disposed of the weapons.
An investigation is continuing.

Criminal Mischief: A Potter Township cabin was reported burglarized, state police at Philipsburg said. Kim Baner of Milesburg owns the cabin on Sand Mountain Road, three miles north of Route 322 in Potter Township. No damage estimate was available and police did not know if anything had been taken from the cabin.
