Although no candidates are vying for the position of treasurer, the International Student Council will hold elections for its executive committee at 7 tonight in 225 HUB.
"Right now there is no one running for treasurer, but we will take nominations from the floor," said Frederik Wenzel, president of the European Student Club.
The ISC executive committee is responsible for representing all 25 member organizations of the council, said current President Abbas Aminmansour.
The council also sponsors special activities such as the International Volleyball Tournament held last month and last week's International Festival.
"The ISC is the sole student body representing all international students," Aminmansour said.
The candidates running for president are Aminmansour, a member of the Iranian Muslim Student Association, and Bilal Muhammad Khan, president of the Pakistani Forum and current ISC publicity officer.
Wenzel said he is running for vice-president because of his interest in serving on the ISC executive committee.
"I'd like to see a closer working together of all groups in the ISC," Wenzel said.
Kim Flora, a member of the European Student Club, is running for secretary against Sipho Hlophe, a member of the African Student Association. The candidate for publicity officer is Muho Azharuddine, a member of the Malaysian Student Association.
An election committee, comprised of representatives from five ISC member organizations, was chosen by the ISC to supervise the elections, said Nicolaos Kamvissis, a committee member from the Hellenic Society.
Kamvissis said if a candidate is not elected for one position, they can run for another until all positions are filled.
As long as candidates are in good academic standing, Kamvissis added any member of ISC is eligible to run in the election.
Twenty-four permanent representatives vote on executive membership.
