A University student was apprehended by State College Bureau of Police Services late Thursday night for allegedly attempting to kill his roommate with a kitchen knife.
Robert E. McMillan Jr., 23, 1005 N. Atherton St., was arrested at 11:56 p.m. for allegedly attempting to stab his roommate, Ricky Poe, 33, after an argument, police said.
After repeatedly threatening to kill Poe, McMillan reportedly tried to stab him, police said. Poe fought off the attack but was cut in the left hand during the struggle, police said. Both men were transported to Centre Community Hospital, police said.
McMillan is charged with criminal attempted homicide, aggravated assault, terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another, police said.
McMillan was arraigned before District Justice Robert May and was in Centre County Prison last night in lieu of $50,000 bail, prison officials said. McMillan's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday in the Centre County Courthouse in Bellefonte.
